LTE routers-particularly industrial-grade models-incorporate a host of technical features designed to ensure stable and reliable operation in harsh environments. Industrial-grade designs typically feature metal enclosures with an IP30 protection rating; they support wide-temperature operation and broad-range power input, while also incorporating lightning protection, anti-static measures, and surge suppression capabilities.

In terms of network connectivity, these routers support universal 4G/LTE compatibility across all carriers and frequency bands. They feature dual-SIM redundancy switching and intelligent link backup capabilities. Additionally, they support various VPN encryption protocols-such as PPTP, L2TP, IPSec, and OpenVPN-and include load balancing functionality. Regarding interfaces, a wide range of options is available, including Ethernet ports, serial ports (RS233/RS485/RS422), and Wi-Fi connectivity, supporting standard network protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP.

To ensure high reliability, the devices feature a built-in watchdog timer and anti-disconnection mechanisms, utilizing multiple layers of redundancy to guarantee uninterrupted connectivity. Security features include support for firewalls, data encryption, Access Control Lists (ACLs), encrypted VPN tunnels, and hierarchical user authorization. For management, the routers support remote web-based administration, CLI access, centralized management software, and cloud-based platforms, facilitating easy large-scale deployment and remote maintenance.

In terms of performance, these routers are powered by high-performance processors and equipped with ample memory resources. In select models, the processor clock speed has been boosted to 380 MHz, with FLASH memory expanded to 8 MB and RAM to 64 MB; this configuration effectively prevents data packet loss during periods of high network traffic. The InHand Networks InRouter900 series, for instance, supports OSPF and DMVPN functionalities. These collective features make LTE routers ideally suited for applications in industrial IoT (IIoT), remote monitoring, and similar scenarios.
